“Der Song klingt vom Vibe her

Denn davon gibt
es heutzutage viel zu wenig.” Available from 28.08.2015

Various – Plastic Dance 1

Image: 1600373 Having spent exactly ten years living off the small change and 45 adapters of each others pockets, Finders Keepers/Cache Cache Records co-founders Andy Votel and Doug Shipton spread their wings and pool their DJ bags for a new series of sporadic various artists compilations focussing on the global punk and makeshift electro records that have kept their beer soaked dance floors and distorted sound systems moving in recent years. Meet the younger sarcastic sisters of some of the classic Finders Keepers family and their spotty friends then watch what happens when jazz punk underdogs cock their legs to their overqualified elder brothers. Plastic Dance presents ten unacquainted and elusive slices of synthetic squat pop, angular funk, teapot kosmische and fraudulent disco from self-propelled imprints and global co-ops. Named after Günter Bernas obscure DIY anti-band this ongoing series combines rare, unknown and untravelled wax nuggets of night club punk, art school Zeuhl and quasi-political pop united by soldering irons, C-60s and sarcastic synth tones. Featuring a cross section of unobtainable unreleased unknown and unwanted reluctant punk and snide synth pop with sleeve-notes by respected DJ/Haç hack/Situationist addict John McCready and artwork by airbrush legend Terry Pastor (Ziggy Stardust/Soft Machine/Arthur C. Clarke) Plastic Dance becomes flexible under heat.

TRACKLISTING:

1. Killing Car – OST
2. Cybotron – Sweet 16/9th floor
3. 53 bus – Horizontal DIY
4. Plastictanz – Mir geht es danke gut

Various – Trevor Jackson Pres. Metal Dance Vol.2
Thursday, October 31st, 2013 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Various – Trevor Jackson Pres. Metal Dance Vol.2

Image: 1582258 In Summer 2013, Trevor Jackson (Playgroup / Underdog / Output Recordings) Returned with the eagerly awaited second instalment of his ‘Metal Dance’ Compilation series, following widespread critical acclaim in the wake of Volume 1. Drawing from Jackson’s deep collection of original industrial, post-punk, EBM and new wave, the album is an inspired mix of sounds and styles, mining classics, dub versions, oddities and secret weapons inspired by his formative clubbing years at many of London’s seminal nightlife haunts. Alongside more familiar names like Visage, Chris & Cosey, Front 242 & Ministry, the compilation includes unexpected outings by ‘80s artists Godley & Crème (with the obscure B-Side ‘Babies’) and an early incarnation of Sheffield’s ABC, Visa Versa, with ‘Riot Squad’. As before, Jackson also places the spotlight on some of the less heralded bands of the time and casts the net far and wide: Germany’s Plus Instruments, Spain’s Diseno Corbusier offshoot Esplendor Geometrico, Italy’s Neon and Yellow Magic Orchestra’s Haruomi Hosono out of Japan all feature. The selection even travels as far as Lebanon for the outrageous ‘Tanki Tanki’ by Rene Bandaly Family, a truly one-off slice of intense political Arabic proto-techno (here re-edited by fellow Lebanese artist Rabih Beaini aka Morphosis). Rarities include tracks from pre-Liaisons Dangereuses / DAF group CHBB, Craig Leon & Arthur Brown, and Trevor’s own re-edit of Rusty Egan’s ‘Twilight Zone’.
‘Metal Dance 2’ is another essential selection of anarchic machine music which remains hugely influential on today’s generation, informing the sound of groups and labels such as The Knife, Factory Floor, Gesaffelstein, COMEME, DFA & L.I.E.S.
The album is reissued in its original 2LP format featuring artwork and graphic design by Trevor Jackson with extensive sleeve notes featuring artist interviews and track by track information.

Soundsci – The Ultimate EP
Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Soundsci – The Ultimate EP

Image: 1580277 Once again, SOUNDSCI reminds you why you fell in love with Hip Hop. After 212’s phenomenal LP, FORMULA 99, SOUNDSCI sets the bar even high in 2013 with THE ULTIMATE EP, the debut offering on their newly formed label, WORLD EXPO. SOUNDSCI channels that raw Wild Style, “electric boogaloo” energy on “THE ULTIMATE”, ignited by verbal juggernauts AUDESSEY, UGEORGE and OXYGEN trading bars back to back cipher style. Next up are stellar contributions from two production heavyweights – DJ SPINNA, whose trippy, neck snapping Classic BEyond Real Remix of “ILL DIALECT” leaves you spellbound – and DJ FORMAT, whose “RHYME 4 RHYME” Remix (featuring GHETTOSOCKS & CADENCE) is an anthem for the B-Boys and B-girls to body the floor. SOUNDSCI’s DJ OLLIE TEEBA flips “The ULTIMATE” on his Drilla Killa Mix for a complete two-piece knockout to the mat. Delivering an elevated sense of self urgency on “THE VOW”, SOUNDSCI’s MCs share personal views about social responsibility and their commitment to the art-form. Beatsmith JOHNNY CUBA serves up the salivating and soulful, “BON APPETIT”, and it’s so dope, you can taste it. Dropping verses that stupefy the senses, OXYGEN and UGEORGE deliver even more full-bodied flow on “LYRICAL BEATDOWN”, and THE ULTIMATE closes with the heartfelt “PLIGHT OF THE UNDERDOG”. Featuring the legendary UK engineer, NO SLEEP NIGEL on the mix and MR. KRUM’s sharp art direction, THE ULTIMATE is one of those records Hip Hop junkies will want to cop doubles of for the turntable decs. THE ULTIMATE EP is one of several W.E. (WORLD EXPO) projects planned for release in 2013 – keep your eyes & ears open for DJ OLLIE TEEBA’s “SHORT ORDER”, as well as UGEORGE’s solo joint dropping later on in the year.
