The Allergies – Entitled to That / Get Down On You
Thursday, July 6th, 2017 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on The Allergies – Entitled to That / Get Down On You

Image: 1610804 Do you long for a time where you could head out have a good time and dance your pants off? Well The Allergies invite you back to the glory days of Northern Soul, high kicks and throwing yourself around the floor with their new single ‘Entitled to That’.

It’s an up tempo stomper with feel-good Soul sensibilities that would be equally at home at the Wigan Casino as it is on today’s festival circuit. Following on in the same vein that made their 6 Music album of the day record – ‘As We Do Our Thing’ so popular, they continue to reshape classic sounds for the modern dancefloor.

Talented Soul songstress Honey Larochelle provides the sass in this peppy number co-penned with The Allergies by regular collaborator Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling). This second single taken from their forthcoming album ‘Push On’ shows they’ve lost none of the verve that made their debut so good, and gives another taste of what to expect from the LP.

They balance out the release nicely with a steady groover in the shape of ‘Get Down On You’ – a steady Funk groove with a catchy bassline and the usual signature flair touches from the guys to keep the crowds entertained.

The legendary Boot Camp Clik has a rich history in Hip Hop. The talented members which make up this mighty army of Bucktown’s (Brooklyn) finest MC’s include Black Moon’s, Buckshot, Smif N Wessun, Sean Price and Rock, of Heltah Skeltah, O.G.C.’s Starang Wondah, Top Dog and Louieville Sluggah, who have all come together to bring you their new album “The Last Stand“.

Collectively, these groups have scanned over 2,500,000 units over a remarkable 11 year career, which began in 1993 with Black Moon’s critically acclaimed Hip Hop classic “Enta Da Stage” and was followed by other classic Hip Hop albums from Smif N Wessun, Heltah Skeltah and O.G.C.

Coming off the independent success Boot Camp experienced in 2005 with their “Triple Threat” campaign (Sean Price’s “Monkey Bars”, 9th Wonder & Buckshot’s “Chemistry” and Smif N Wessun’s “Reloaded”), now BCC is readying “The Last Stand”, which with the return of Heltah Skeltah’s Rock (who was absent from the collectives last LP The Chosen Few) features the return of “the great eight” fully intact. With Da Beatminerz behind the boards as usual, the set also features outside production from some of the game’s most consistent producers. The stellar line-up, which features 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, Large Professor, Ill Mind and Marco Polo among others, is a testament to BCC’s relevance in the immediate Hip Hop landscape …

With “The Many Facets Of…” Unique Records are releasing the long awaited debut album of London based MC and soul brother Travis Blaque, who has already worked with The Herbaliser (Ninja Tune) and classic rap group The Quiet Boyz. Travis Blaque has been a contributing member of the hip hop scene for more than 20 years as a breakdancer, session MC and recording artist.

“The Many Facets Of…” offers a great musical variety within a total of 14 fascinating songs, recorded in three individual sessions with producers such as Keith Lawrence (Muzik Ed Productions) and Drew Horley (Drewbeats) at The Lab Studios London, Jason Moe aka Moezart (Nerol Productrions / Roachford fame) and Sweden’s finest, 3rd Floor, resulting in warm, strong, straightforward and uncompromising hip hop / urban songs. An album heavily loaded with soul, flow, and lyrical heat, comparable to the work of artists such as Rodney P, Roots Manuva and The Plantlife, although Travis Blaque is much more of a poet, cynic, realist, critic, and observer of life. He comments, reflects and deals with the simple, human, everyday things from the perspective of the son of Jamaican immigrants.
