Billain – Blockfield / Boogie
Monday, May 27th, 2013 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Billain – Blockfield / Boogie

Image: 1580388 White Vinyl (300 Ltd Edition Copies)

One of the DNB scene’s most innovative producers, Billain is a name synonymous with the cutting edge of music production. Known in Neurofunk circles and beyond for his organic, complex and totally original style – Billain has been smashing clubs worldwide, with 2012 seeing the releases of the chilling Total Darkness on Rise Audio and the massive Batbots on Bad Taste Recordings.

Now, with the heavyweight sounds of Batbots/Manifold still dealing damage, Billain steps up to deliver another dose of his trademark sound. Featuring Blockfield, a detailed sonic journey with dancefloor appeal and Boogie, a track designed to destroy the rave, Billain and Bad Taste are set to smash it once again.

Blockfield – Featuring a cinematic introduction that will transport you to an alien shore, Blockfield has all the hallmarks of another outrageous Billain production. Packing in carefully honed Neuro-Bass, twisted, distorted sounds and adrenaline fueled drums throughout, Blockfield is a worthy successor to Batbots – one of the biggest Neurofunk tracks of 2012.

Boogie – The flipside see’s Billain break the mould once again. Incorporating elements of Disco and Boogie, Billain combined ravey stabs and complex percussion with his signature style and the results are astounding. Featuring sharp synths, roaring Billain bass and a relentless groove, Boogie is the perfect counterpart to the epic sounds of Blockfield.* Support : B.Traits, Crissy Cris, Concord Dawn, BSE, Optiv, John B, Cause For Concern, State Of Mind, High Contrast, London Elektricity, Phace & more!

Phantasm (Cella Dwellas) & Soulbrotha – Louder Than Ever
Friday, July 1st, 2016 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Phantasm (Cella Dwellas) & Soulbrotha – Louder Than Ever

Image: 1604605 Some emcees have preserved the gift of quality over time and
Phantasm is one of these emcees. In the 90’s and early 2000
Phantasm and then partner UG were signed to almighty Loud
Records as Cella Dwellas (later just The Dwellas) along with several
heavyweight acts on the label’s roster including Wu-Tang Clan,
Big Pun, Xzibit, M.O.P, and Mobb Deep. Phantasm & UG’s debut
album “Realms ‘N Reality” (1996) debuted at #160 on the Billboard
200 charts and was mainly produced by underground mainstay
beatsmith Nick Wiz. The Flatbush duo was also featured on fellow
Brooklyn artist Masta Ace’s classic album “Sittin’ On Chrome”. The
Dwellas followed up with a dope second album (“The Last Shall
Be First”) in 2000 which featured Large Professor, Cocoa Brovaz,
Organized Konfusion, Inspectah Deck (of Wu-Tang Clan), and many
more.
Phantasm recently teamed up with Ill Adrenaline Records to release
a timeless single (“Louder Than Ever”) produced by Germany’s own
SP1200 maestros 12 Finger Dan and B-Base (aka Soulbrotha).
Complete with a true school feel and a dope scratch hook, Phan
executes with a sharp delivery with lines like “…had to pen them bars,
got out the street life had to mend them scars. Praise God or Allah
whoever sent us Nas.” Tall Man Phan is back to basics on his latest
release.

I.G. Off & Hazadous – Ready For Me / Crown Holders
Friday, February 12th, 2016 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on I.G. Off & Hazadous – Ready For Me / Crown Holders

Image: 1602241 The 90’s introduced a slew of dynamic hip-hop duo’s including Das
EFX, Cella Dwellas and Mos Def & Talib Kweli. I.G. Off & Hazadous
were one of these duos and put their name on the map in that era with
several indie releases and countless underground radio sessions
as a New York rap group known for their gritty raw street grammar
and dope freestyle skills. The Bronx/Queens duo first appeared on
the DJ Spinna produced and released 3-track 12” “Street Serenade”
in 1997 and were featured on the classic Rawkus Lyricist Lounge
Volume One compilation on the posse freestyle cut “Bathroom
Cypher” in 1998. Within the next few years I.G. Off &Hazadous
recorded a string of singles, working with DJ Spinna again on the
“The Nicest”12” single, and getting a placement on the Superrappin
Vol. II album. Around that time the duo also connected with Norway’s
finest producer and Guesswhyld Records affiliate Tommy Tee.
Ill Adrenaline Records and Tee Productions proudly presents I.G.
Off & Hazadous “Ready For Me b/w Crown Holders (feat. Skam2?)”
limited edition 7” – two rare and very dope tracks from 1998/99,
originally released on two different Tommy Tee albums. Both tracks
also were featured in the critically acclaimed documentary “Hip-Hop:
A Tale from the Hood” (based on I.G. Off & Hazadous’ life and their
everyday struggle) by German filmmaker Harald Rumpf and have
never been available on vinyl before.
After being hit by a drunk driver in 2007 and being paralyzed from
then on, I.G. Off sadly passed away on June 12th in 2012. The 7”
displays the lyrical street duo at their best and pays homage to the
late, great veteran emcee and freestyle king I.G. Off.

Beneficence – Basement Chemistry
Friday, January 8th, 2016 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Beneficence – Basement Chemistry

Image: 1601530 After dropping back to back classics with “Sidewalk Science” (2011)
and “”Concrete Soul”” (2012), Brick City veteran and Ill Adrenaline
Records co-founder Beneficence unleashes his 6th solo LP
“Basement Chemistry”. Armed with the true sounds of the golden
era Benef drops rejuvenated flows and shares mics with hip-hop’s
elite lyricists. The lineup includes Inspectah Deck (of Wu-Tang Clan),
Masta Ace, MC Eiht, El Da Sensei, AG (of D.I.T.C), Dres (of Black
Sheep), The Legion, Chubb Rock, MindsOne, and Estee Nack (of
Tragic Allies).
Once again the close Artifacts affiliate traps the listener into slick,
thought provoking rhymes backed by hard hitting yet soulful
production from DJ Spinna, Da Beatminerz, 12 Finger Dan,
Confidence, L’Orange, Presto, KON Sci, Jazz Spastiks, and many
more. 19-tracks strong, the dusty and raw sounding full length
displays a perfect blend of street jewels like the Inspectah Deck
laced “Digital Warfare” and the Masta Ace inspiring anthem “When
The Sun Comes”.
The P Original produced banger “Easy As 1-2” opens the album
brilliantly showing Benef’s relaxed but witty cadence. “Basement
Chemistry” travels down many avenues including the battle rap
driven joint “Against The Grain” and storytelling saga “Maui Vacation”.
The album’s formula stays true to the game with obscure samples,
intricate cuts, and official boom bap sound.

Da Beatminerz – Sumthin (Remix) (ft. Tash & Rah Digga)
Friday, January 10th, 2014 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Da Beatminerz – Sumthin (Remix) (ft. Tash & Rah Digga)

Image: 1586673 remixed by Da Beatminerz (DJ Evil Dee & Mr.Walt) / b/w “Another World (Remix #2)” feat. Black Star /

Ill Adrenaline Records and Da Beatminerz team up again to put out two dope unreleased remixes coming straight out the vaults from Mr. Walt and Evil Dee.

While the original version of “…Sumthin” (feat. Tash & Rah Digga) got a more funky vibe, the remix of this east coast/west coast collaboration banger is on the rough and rugged tip. Produced by Mr. Walt and featuring Tash of Tha Alkaholiks and Brick City’s Rah Digga, this remix was recorded back in the same year as the original version (1998) and shelved until now.

The b-side remix of Black Star’s (Mos Def & Talib Kweli) “Another World” is another amazing and unreleased remix of this classic tune. Just like the first remix, this drum driven and funky remix didn’t make it onto any release either. Da Beatminerz got hired to do several remixes of this track (originally produced by UK production crew The Creators) in ’98.

Classic Beatminerz production on both tracks! Available from 20.12.2013

B-1 / O.C. – Hands Of Time / Spitgame
Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on B-1 / O.C. – Hands Of Time / Spitgame

Image: 1584141 B-1 & Large Professor “Hands Of Time” b/w O.C. & Da Beatminerz “Spitgame”

B-1 (aka One) has been in the game since the early 90’s, but despite close ties to numerous well known rap artists and hip-hop luminaries his name remains relatively unknown to this day. Hailing from Queens, NY, B-1 gravitated towards hip-hop at a young age, influenced by his mother’s eclectic musical tastes as well as the nearby block parties and park jams.

Citing Kool G Rap and Lord Finesse as major influences in picking up a pen and becoming an MC, B-1 spent a long time honing his craft on the down low before being featured on two tracks on Kool G Rap’s 1995 album “4, 5, 6”, alongside close associate MF Grimm. However this wasn’t the first time for B-1 to work with one of his former idols as he already had the chance to record alongside Lord Finesse, Grimm and Freddie Foxxx in 1992, earning him a mention in the prestigious demo section of Rap Pages Magazine.

In the late 90’s, B-1 went on to become one of the first artists to sign a deal with Rawkus Records and released a handful of successful underground records, several of which featured collaborations with none other than Large Professor. In 2000 the very gifted Queens MC went quiet, but never stopped recording new music. It was already 2012 when B-1 finally made a dope comeback on the Beneficence collabo track, “Rulez To The Game (Remix)”, that also featured Harlem legend Herb McGruff.

Ill Adrenaline Records proudly presents a previously unreleased gem by B-1 & Large Professor entitled “Hands of Time”. This track was recorded back in 1997 and meant to be B-1’s first single on Rawkus. The “Brooklyn Side” of the 7″ contains a dope demo track by O.C. & Da Beatminerz.

Keep your eyes peeled for a B-1 full length album sometime next year on Ill Adrenaline Records!

borough. Longtime observer and emcee of the culture Truth is set
to release his debut album “From Ashes To Kingdome Come” on Ill

Mobb Deep – Shook Ones Pt.1&2
Friday, September 25th, 2015 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Mobb Deep – Shook Ones Pt.1&2

Image: 1599746 SIDE A: SHOOK ONES (PT. II) SIDE B: SHOOK ONES (PT. I) /

“Shook Ones Part II” might be one of the biggest records to come out of New York in
the mid 90’s. From the moment you hear the bare hi-hat and the infamous line “to all
the killers and the hundred dollar billas” it is an immediate adrenaline rush. The beat
alone is a work of art, Havoc constructed what would go on for years as “how did he
actually come up with that beat?!” amongst DJ’s and Producers alike. The infectious
piano, cinematic sirens, it was no doubt that it was one of (famed New York nightclub)
The Tunnel’s most signature records. As Cipha Sounds put it – “How could it not rip
in The Tunnel? Just classic. ‘Shook Ones Part I’ was actually pretty big in the Tunnel,
but ‘Part II’ ripped everything.” When “Shook Ones Part II” came you couldn’t help
but nod your head and get lost in Havoc and Prodigy trading verses breaking down
the meaning of a crook…making you shook son. Not to be left out “Shook Ones Part
1” is on the flipside that came out months earlier with a much more subdued beat and
slightly different lyrics. Most 12” aren’t built like this, so to be on 7” for the first time
ever this is a must have….son. Available from 23.10.2015

STL GLD – My Monday Morning Music
Thursday, September 4th, 2014 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on STL GLD – My Monday Morning Music

Image: 1591432 ON LIMITED EDITION WHITE VINYL!
Two-time Boston Music Award winner Moe Pope and Duck Down producer The Arcitype, who has produced music for artists
such as Vinnie Paz and Ruste Juxx, have come together to release a new album of original, sample-free music entitled ‘My
Monday Morning Music.’
The Album takes the listener on a journey of beats, melodies and lyrics that range from cinematic styles, to harder, grittier
beats. Along with Moe Pope, the album features a wide array of well-known artists such as Dua (Bad Rabbits), Ruste Juxx,
Reks, Jake Merhmann and Chris Klaxton (Tan Vampires), Dutch Rebelle, Tea Leigh, Fran-P, and John Robinson.
Moe Pope is an acclaimed hip-hop artist, songwriter, and contemporary painter, and winner of the Boston Music Award for
Hip Hop Artist Of The Year two years running. His works (Including 2013’s critical smash Let The Right Ones In with producer
Rain) have received widespread praise from outlets such as The Boston Herald, Stuff Magazine, RadioBDC, The Boston
Phoenix, and iTunes Rewind. His style of hip-hop draws equally from the alternative traditions of A Tribe Called Quest, the
abstract prose of Bob Dylan, the adrenaline-soaked fervor of Bad Brains, and the eccentricities of Radiohead.
The Arcitype is a producer from New York, former lead guitarist for Blues/Funk group Tip Top Deluxe, transplanted to
Cambridge, MA, who has previously worked with Moe Pope as well as the likes of Scarface, Guilty Simpson, Ill Bill, Kool G.
Rap, and many more. He is an alumni of Emerson College, and a mainstay of the Boston hip-hop scene, as the proprietor
of AR Classic Records, and The Bridge Sound & Stage, one of the premier rap recording studios in Massachusetts.
The Arcitype himself has said of My Monday Morning Music that the album “…was birthed during the making and mixing of
Let The Right Ones In, and it’s a different type of sound for both Moe and Myself, a more standard (while more musical)
boom-bap direction than that of Moe Pope and Rain, whose sound was more derived from an indie rock inspiration.”

Sigma – Rudeboy VIP/ All Because Of You
Monday, May 5th, 2014 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Sigma – Rudeboy VIP/ All Because Of You

Image: 1588030 It’s fair to say it’s been quite a while since we’ve had any new material from Life Recordings, the imprint owned and run by drum & bass superstars Sigma.

Well the wait is thankfully no more. After penning a deal with 3Beat Records last summer and recently puncturing the charts as well as mainstream radio with their infectious anthem Rudeboy, Cam and Joe felt that 2014 was the right time to reignite the label and are kicking things off with something very special indeed.

With its mantra like hook, courtesy of Doctor, and old school jungle flavours there’s no doubt Rudeboy caught the eyes and ears of many within drum & bass and to those outside it. To reopen the Life Recordings account Sigma present to you: Rudeboy VIP. If the original was one for the radio then the VIP is aimed directly for the heads in the middle of the club dance floor. Taking the catchy lyrics and bleeped out melodies of its predecessor, you’re lulled by the sing along nature of the chorus. But then, filtered breaks begin to build before all of a sudden you’re dropped into the middle of tearing half time, two step groove held together by hectic synths, totally rewiring the nature of the original to devastating speaker shuddering effect.

It doesn’t end there as a further two tracks round off this rather tasty EP package. All Because Of You tips the more melodic side of the Sigma scale. Rumbling weighty sub bass is the foundation for a moody and musical workout, as unsettling yet hauntingly beautiful multi pitched vocals float over the top of the classy production laid down in front of them. Rounding things off is the high octane Energise. A totally apt track title, it does exactly that in a way Cam and Joe do best. Pure club ready energy, Energise combines ear catching synth patches and talkbox style riffs, giving any club crowd a blast of pure bass driven adrenaline. This will just be the start of what plans to be an exciting year for Sigma and Life Recordings, with more music and releases planned for the duration of the year. For now throw your hood up, turn the volume skyward and walk like a Rudeboy. Available from 14.04.2014

Image: 1584339 Hailing from Brazil, a hotbed of DnB talent, BTK has worked for an impressive list of respected imprints including Virus Recordings, Shogun Audio, Playaz Recordings, V Records and Renegade Hardware. Known and respected in the dance and by his peers, BTK’s productions regularly find themselves in sets from some of the biggest DJ’s in the scene, with Ed Rush & Optical, Andy C, Friction, DJ Hype, Audio all drawing for the Brazilian’s rough but soulful beats.

Now after his debut album on Virus Recordings (produced together with Optiv) still being played a year after its release, BTK is set to drop two more bangers on V Recordings.

Try Another storming production, Try has all the hallmarks sounds of another V Recordings classic. Featuring haunting vocals full of depth and a deeply unsettling bass, BTK fuses soul and pure filth with huge results. Packed with hard drums, dark bass and ominous synths, Try is already ruining the rave.

Bandits On the flip, BTK and Mindscape roll out the deep techier vibes they have become famous for. After an adrenaline fueled build up, Bandits hits hard. Featuring unlawfully heavy bass and hard hitting drums, Bandits is sophisticated Drum and Bass from the Brazilian producer – and rounds off another quality release from V Records.

Support from Andy C, Friction, The Upbeats, Bryan Gee, Ed Rush, Marcus Intalex, Crissy Criss and more!

Tyke & Prestige / Rawtee – Cowboy Desperado/Throwing Stars VIP
Saturday, September 7th, 2013 | Posted in Products | Comments Off on Tyke & Prestige / Rawtee – Cowboy Desperado/Throwing Stars VIP

Image: 1584337 Grid Recordings keeps things moving with another sledgehammer of a release. Featuring four upfront and grimy tracks from some of the label’s most loved producers, That’s What We Call Bass Part 2 sees Tyke, Prestige, and Rawtee serve up another dose of essential Grid.

Tyke and Prestige team up once again from yet another jump up colossus. After a chilling cinematic intro, Cowboy Desperado transforms into a stomping juggernaut. Featuring thick, twisting bass and hammering drums, Cowboy is another weapon from the production team that brought us Scorpio. .

Miami based Rawtee keeps things moving with the adrenaline fueled sounds of Throwing Stars VIP. After a desolate intro, Throwing Star explodes into a track designed to destroy the dancefloor. A combination of catchy bassline, metallic synths and rolling percussion – expect Throwing Stars VIP is already dealing damage.

These tracks have already gained support from DJ Hype, Bryan Gee, The Upbeats, Crissy Criss, DJ Hazard,Grooverider and many more. Available from 19.08.2013
