Image: 1607379 Jacob Collier is recognized as one of the world's most distinctive, inventive and prodigious young musicians. Based in London, UK, Jacob has been inspired by many sounds - his music combines elements of Jazz, A cappella, Groove, Folk, Classical, Brazilian, Gospel, Soul and Improvisation (to name a few), which culminate to create the world of "Jacob Collier." He composes and performs everything sound you hear in his music himself - Jacob has spent the last year collaborating with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, designing and building a groundbreaking solo live performance vehicle, bringing his one-man, multi-instrumental, multi-visual format of music making to the stage.

We are pleased to present this Do Right 45 special release featuring two of Jacob Collier's earliest recordings, originally demoed at home, that helped him to attract the attention of soul, jazz and electronic tastemakers around the globe. This is the first time these two songs have ever been pressed on vinyl.

On the A-side, a team of Jacob Colliers delve into one of Burt Bacharach's greatest tunes, 'Close To You', made famous by The Carpenters in 1970. Amazingly, this entire recording consists of two AKG C414s, one AKG D112, and one trusty SM58. Arranged, performed, produced in the music room at home by Jacob Collier.

On the flip: Jacob Collier's arrangement of an all-time Stevie Wonder favourite, 'Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing' recorded entirely with one SM58 microphone.
