Debut album from one of the stars of Jamaica’s roots rebirth movement (which includes Chronixx, Protoje and Jah 9), “Diamond Sox” includes the original and remix versions of the YouTube video hit (with over 500.000 views combined) and features guest appearances from Tarrus Riley, Jah 9, Jahmali, Dean Fraser and Capleton!

A few facts:
– Iba Mahr started out as a protogé of Max Romeo and one of the first recordings from 2009 was the song “Had It & Lost It” on a re-lick of the “Chase The Devil” rhythm.
– The singer’s great soulful vibrato voice was subsequently trained by the great late Philip “Fatis” Burrell.
– The artist was initially inspired by Alton Ellis, Hugh Mundell or Gregory Isaacs.
– First local live performances started in 2011 followed by all big european summer festivals in 2013 and 2014
– Parts of the “Diamond Sox” album were recorded at the Tuff Gong studio.
