JahcoustixAn uplifting single release of “World Citizen” featuring Shaggy, Live-shows on Europe’s biggest Festivals such as Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, an official invitation of Germany’s President as well as an inspirational songwriting trip to Jamaica – that was 2012! In 2013 Jahcoustix is back to celebrate his 10th anniversary and the release of a brand new Studio album.

Jahcoustix’s youth was a nomad’s life, spending years in Mexico, Liberia, New York, Kenya and Egypt. He discovered music in Kenya where he began writing his first songs. After returning to Germany at the age of 20, Jahcoustix fully dedicated his life to Music and has ever since departed on a journey that has taken him and his songs half way around the world. Jahcoustix has released five studio albums and played 1,000 live concerts over the last decade. His musical diversity, the steady development as well as the recognition he receives for his work are all signs of moving towards a bright future. On this upcoming album Jahcoustix provides his fans with uncompromising roots reggae. The idea and approach to this album is different to all the previous records. Instead of recording the album with his band, Jahcoustix works with a number of producers to get a more diversified sound. In his anniversary year, Jahcoustix will be out there to reach out to the world with his new songs and a strong lyrical message.

“I wanted to make a pure roots reggae record for my anniversary with a focus on collaborations with some of my favorite singers of the past 30 years of reggae music. This is my dream, my passion, it’s a truly heartical matter to me.” (Jahcoustix in October 2012)

Besides that Jahcoustix is working on a trio album, which might surprise a lot of people in 2014. The musical inspiration for this record are bands like The Police, Sublime and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
