“What about the roots? – Don’t them love it no more?” are questions which ‘The Messenjah’ aka Luciano aka Jepther McClymont is looking for answers and also gives his own state of mind concerning this issue written down on his summer 2011 album “Rub-A-Dub Market”. The new longplayer, exclusively produced by Irievibrations Records, is a strong statement by Luciano for the love of roots reggae and therefore counteracting against the overtaking digital dancehall / hip hop productions which is supposed to lead to the loss of the Jamaican roots in the music business. The rhythm tracks on “Rub-A-Dub Market” are all acoustic, continuous hand made, recorded live in the studio and are perfectly made for Luciano’s moving and touching messages. The musical spectrum of “Rub-A-Dub Market” varies from roots reggae to dub to the point of Nyahbinghi riddims. Even in respect to musical boundaries ‘The Messenjah’ doesn’t set limits whereby he manages to cope with the different music styles in his very special and inimitable manner.

In a recent quote Luciano proclaims: “I came out of roots and culture as a reggae singer and have proven to people that I can fit into any genre of music” – “I sing reggae, gospel and roots. I will sing rock too but always keeping my message clean, spiritual and cultural. There are no barriers in music – although I am well known as a reggae culture singer, I have an international message. So I cannot leave it just to reggae people. I have to extend it to people of all walks of life”.

The title song “Rub-A-Dub Market” is one of the most outstanding statements these days and is thereby the album title. The song is a rational appeal to the reggae / dancehall business and targets to the ruling state of things with its fast moving digital production. Due to these conditions Luciano sets a sustainable statement for roots reggae music in general!

The album will be supported by a big string of summer 2011 dates all over Europe!
