Producers Steely & Clevie were pioneers of dancehall reggae’s digital age. Having built their reputations as studio musician’s (Steely playing bass & Clevie playing drums), the duo came to prominence as the house band at King Jammy’s studio at the time drum machines were first used on reggae records. The duo quickly became Jamaica’s hottest production team and together forged a sound that would rule the dancehall scene for decades.

Their imprint logged numerous #1 Jamaican hits and multiple US crossover radio hits during the period of 1989 to 2005. Steely aka Wycliffe ‘Steely’ Johnson (r.i.p. 01.09.2009) was also a member of the Roots Radics and the Black Roots Players.

This 3-disc, collector’s edition package includes 42 of their most influential and biggest hits on 2 CDs, and the DVD contains a 1988 interview and studio demonstration with Steely & Clevie filmed for Jamaica Broadcasting Company (JBC) and a 2005 interview with the producers sponsored by Red Bull Academy.

The collection presents fan favorites and rare insight on two of reggae’s most influential producers – a must have for collectors everywhere!
