Antoine Harispuru is a Robot Kid. The man behind Golden Bug was partly-educated by Victor, a Japanese Robot from Osaka. Victor was invented by Komba, an old Japanese man who wanted a child. He created Victor. When the old man died he sent Victor around the world telling him to find a new home. After a big odyssey Victor finally arrived at legendary “La Maison du Robot” in Paris. The shop was owned by Antoine’s mother who was the first one to import Japanese toys to Europe in the 70ies. So Victor came to Antoine’s family and decided to stay for a while. And as Antoines mother was busy with the other toys – Victor practically was the one to teach Antoine how to eat, how to speak and how to dance …

Victor was a huge fan of 70ies hard soul and 80ies electrofunk – so when Antoine turned 14, Victor bought him a Roland TR808 Drum machine, a sampler and some old records and they started to invent a new style of robotistic booty funk. A few years later Victor and Antoine left Mamas Toyshop and went to live on a boat on La Seine … doing hippypartys on their boat, dancing at the Parisian rave parties of the 90ies and hanging with their crew – the legendary skate boys from “Palais du Tokio”. The Crew which also included people like DJ Falcon, Pedro Winter and other now famous funky Frenchmen.

One day the German Gomma boys heard rumors about this crazy Robot funkateer and got super curious. They found Antoine and it was immediately clear that Antoine the Robot man had to join the Gommagang. In 2008 he finally released his debut album “Hot Robot” on Gomma Records, a perfect mix of cosmic disco elements, dirty funk, futuristic electrobeats and crazy vocals.

Since then Golden Bug released more tracks on labels such as Gomma, Bang Gang or Silicon Square Garden records, and he produced remixes for In Flagranti, Adam Freeland, Two Door Cinema Club, Gloves, and Delphic. His latest effort is a remix production for Telonius on “Gomma Dance Tracks E.P 2”. You can also expect two brand new releases on Gomma Dance Tracks by the man himself. The digital-only releases of Golden Bug’s “The Game Flamingo EP” (Gomma DT010) and “Flamingo Remixes” (Gomma DT010) including remixes by Pete Herbert, In Flagranti, Rove Dogs, and Herr Styler will be available from February 2010 on beatport and other selected download stores.
