Ingo Sänger started his DJ career in the late 1980s. Right from the beginning he presented an unheard mixture of hip-hop, dancehall, house and break beats. With various club residencies, nationwide bookings and DJ mixes on Germany’s biggest radio station 1LIVE, he established himself as one of the most famous DJs in Germany. In the meantime his trademark became a floating mix of mainly deep, vocal and broken house tunes, but he still loves to play dope beats, dancehall, some old soul and indie/alternative music to entertain the crowd.
With numerous solo productions under his belt and as part of the Westpark Unit project, Ingo Sänger is also a recognized musician and producer. Westpark Unit (a project by Herb LF and Ingo Sänger) is one of the few leading deep house outfits from Germany, although they never hide their love for dub and hip hop. Past Westpark Unit releases and mixes on labels such as Farside Records, Stir 15, Dessous, Tjumy, Future Classic, Fear Of Flying or Infracom found their way into record boxes of DJs like Rainer Trüby, Osunlade, Laurent Garnier, Âme, Motorcitysoul, Yannick (Needs), Makossa, Alton Miller, Zwicker, and many more.
In 2000 Ingo Sänger founded his own imprint Farside Records. Almost ten years later it’s time for a first label retrospective. The compilation “Farside 1.0″ (release date: 29.01.2010) features 15 tracks exclusively selected and re-edited by Herb LF and Ingo Sänger, including tracks by Westpark Unit, Herb LF, Matt Flores, Asli, The Offsetters, Elina Monova, and remixes by Marcus Worgull and Patchworks. “Farside 1.0″ provides a very special insight into the fantastic world of Farside Records.
