In 2006 Cologne based DJs, producers, and musicians C.A.Ramirez and Pascal Schäfer teamed up to start their own label Sin & Soul Records. In the beginning they released two excellent 12″es under the name No Theory, followed by a monster EP by Frank West, and two well received disco edits. All releases on Sin & Soul Records are characterised by the duo’s deep love for disco and house music, and a very special approach to everything they do.
C.A.Ramirez is also famous for his incredibly good DJ sets. Well, most peple know somebody who can blend two records, but the true art of deejaying is much more than a fancy t-shirt, cool glasses, a weird haircut, and some stupid fame bitches who carry your bag. It’s about skills, style, passion, respect, and the ability to read the crowd. And this kid really blows your mind. He’s truly inspirational, and his remarkable alcohol consumption which every now and then results in lost records or an inappropriate behaviour is pure entertainment. To make a long story short, Cologne’s nightlife wouldn’t be the same without him. He’s my favourite DJ. Period.
So, what’re you waiting for? Grab your wallet and visit a record shop near you to buy the new Sin & Soul “Edits Volume 2″. It’s out now!
