5984Westpark Unit aka Herb LF and Ingo Sänger are one of the few leading deep house outfits from Germany, although they never hide their love for dub and hip hop. Past Westpark Unit releases and mixes on labels such as Farside Records (their own imprint), Stir 15, Dessous, Tjumy, Future Classic, Fear Of Flying or Infracom found their way into record boxes of DJs like Rainer Trüby, Osunlade, Laurent Garnier, Âme, Motorcitysoul, Yannick (Needs), Makossa, Alton Miller, Zwicker, and many more.

On September 4, 2009, they released their latest 12-inch vinyl “More Forever” on Farside Records.

“More Forever” might sound familiar to a few people that followed the music of Westpark Unit over the years. The tune is a special re-work of their first ever limited 12-inch release “Forever” back in 2002 on Draft Recordings. “More Forever” took some of the original deep harmonies, while keeping parts of the piano loop and the beautiful sampled hook, and should be a soulful bomb on 2009 dancefloors. By the way, the remastered and modified original version is additionally available as digital-only track (“Forever Revisited”).

Even deeper, “45” grows and grows with a very intense chord, taking you on a trip with its driving bassline. It’s the other dubby deep house tune here. The first demo version received some nice feedback/chartings/plays from DJs like Dplay, Matt Flores or Shur-I-Kan.

While speaking of house (not house), “Jam Hot” and “Familiar Sequence” are musically caught somewhere in between the styles. “Jam Hot” might be more funk than house with just sexy slow 104 bpm, but is bouncing like hell and keeps the crowd shaking and moving. “Familiar Sequence” has a bit of a balearic vibe and appeals to all disco fanatics out there. Both tunes are the perfect start into the night. We think this is the right tempo for party anyway.
