4354The L.A. native has held down hip-hop’s trenches for years along with his Strong Arm Steady crew, but it goes with out saying Phil’s talents have brought his solo presence to the forefront of the West Coast underground. From his collaborations with Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, Tha Liks, Dilated Peoples and more, to his classic debut LP “Aromatic”, Phil The Agony has earned his stripes and now more than ever is the time is now for him to reclaim his OG status.

“Think Green” is Phil The Agony’s second solo LP. With its triple entendre, the albums’ title refers to making green, smoking green and conserving the green. It’s the conscious approach to an everyday hustler’s ideal. The album’s commercial packing holds true to Phil’s vision, with a minimalist 100% eco-friendly CD package.

On the title track Phil breaks it down, “I print my album on recycled paper so you ain’t gotta cut the rainforest, for me to sing the chorus … .” A “footprint-free” digital EP of the release will be available to celebrate Earth Day (April 20th) to be followed by the physical release set for May 1st. And if that weren’t enough, in conjunction with the Global Releaf Program, the label will plant a tree for every copy of the album (digital or physical) that is sold. The tree will be planted based on soundscan markets so every consumer’s city/town will be impacted by this.
