Science is defined as knowledge and (DJ) Exile is its professor. A decade of experience with underground heroes EMANON, plus various production credits ranging from Mobb Deep to Jurassic 5, has paved the road for Exile’s hip-hop dissertation, aptly titled ‘Dirty Science.’
Exile first discovered his beat making abilities in the sixth grade, scratching a Star Wars 45, later honing his skills on his home stereo system. Inspired by his favorite producers such as DJ POOH, AFRICA ISLAM, and DJ ALLADIN, he began to experiment making loops with two-tape decks and moved on to a Scratchmaster Mixer, complete with push-button sampler. Exile’s skills evolved with the use of a four-track and produced his first mix tape “Dream Sequence.” At the age of 18, Exile produced a track for a then 16 year old rapper, Aloe Blacc. Within a few months, Aloe and Exile officially joined forces and formed EMANON, and have been rocking shows from LA to London ever since…
Featuring dynamic collaborations with Ghosftace, Slum Village, Kardinal Offishall, and MED, Exile re-defines the various styles within hip-hop music with consecutive heat. Add to the mix, his stable of MC’s including Aloe Blacc, Blu, Co$$, Donel Smokes and LA’s own Trek Life, Detroit’s Ta’Raach (a/k/a Lacks), and Oxnard’s finest, Oh No, plus the golden voice of Jontel on cuts like Summertime in LA, Maintain, and Welcome, runs the gamut of MU.SIC.
