Tyler Askew has been making his mark on international music and design culture since his teenage years in the mid-90’s as a DJ, designer, writer, and laison. If you’ve check London’s Straight No Chaser magazine then you are probably familiar with his column “Transatlantic Audio”, which he pens along with long-time partner Karl Injex. You may have also seen his name on countless LP sleeves in various capacities.

Originally from Atlanta, and now based in Brooklyn, Tyler is a descendant of Chaser’s freedom principle. During his stretch at design school, he made the trip to London to study with graphic-supremo Swifty, and to work with the mag’s founder Paul Bradshaw. Since that time, Tyler grown to contribute greatly to the magazine- from coordinating feature stories to finding artists for the mag’s gallery section. He has also been influencial to many independent labels as a designer and consultant, and has helped develop artists and facilitate remixes. In addition to the column, he and Injex have also been developing many other projects, including the successful NYC party Rude Movements. In recent years, Tyler and Injex have taken their sound to cities such as London, Amsterdam, Toronto, and Singapore.

The duo just entered the record label scene and dropped the limited edition Shawn J.Period “The Come Back” EP on white vinyl with hand-stenciled artwork from legendary UK Illustrator Ian Wright! How rude is that?!
