Soundway are proud to present their Fourth album. After the successes of Ghana Soundz Volumes 1&2 and the Afro-Baby album they continue to unleash more rare and un-available Afro music.

From the Republic of Benin, West Africa, The TP Orchestre Poly Rythmo are one of Africa’s least-known big-bands outside of their home country. Here we hope to redress the balance with a collection that reflects their many poly-rhythmic moods. A mixture of hard Afro-funk, driving Afro-beat, deep Afro-latin and Cuban grooves all with a unique flavour that ruled the dance-floors of 70’s urban Benin.

Never before heard tracks re-mastered and availble for the first time outside of Africa since originally being issued on small presses that long became extinct.

As with all Soundway releases this album will be packed with sleeve notes history and reproductions of original sleeve art label scans (for the trainspotters!) all laid out over a 16 page booklet. The comes in a matt finish slip-case.

The release will be heavily promo’ed throughout January and a finished-product mailout will take place in the first week of January covering all the World, Jazz, Funk and Afro Journalists, Dj’s and radio stations all over the world.

The album TP Orchestre Poly Rhythmo – The Kings Of Benin Urban Groove 1972-80 (Soundway) is going to be released March 21, 2005.
