He’s worked with many of hip-hop’s top acts, such as Dilated Peoples (“Work the Angles”), Cali Agents (“Take it Back Home”) and PMD of EPMD (“Straight From The Heart”). In addition, Kurt has done numerous remixes, including ones for Linkin Park, Beastie Boys, Del & Mr Liff, Mos Def & Diverse, Blackalicious, Kool Keith, Dilated, DJ Spooky, Chino XL,and Luscious Jackson.

Kurt toured the US as part of the Cali Comm tours (DJing with Motion Man) in 2001 and 2002, appearing at over 60 of the dates with groups like Del The Funky Homosapien (gorillaz) and the Pharcyde. As well, he has performed at festivals in Europe like the Quart Festival in Kristiansand Norway, the Dour Festival in Belgium and the legendary Glastonbury and ATP Festivals in England. His touring highlight was DJing with Kool Keith when they opened 16 dates for the Red Hot Chili Peppers 2000 US tour for Californication.

Kurt’s been in the game for a minute. Born in Berkeley and mostly raised in Santa Cruz, California, he got his start Deejaying parties at UCSC and in Community (KUSP) and College (KZSC) radio in 1985. In 1992, while on a promo tour in San Franciso (with his group Ultramagnetic M.C.’s), he met Kool Keith. Later in 1994, they moved to LA together and started recording. The results were the classic Dr. Octagon, Sex Style, Dr. DOOOM, and Masters of Illusion records. During that time, Kurt started his own label Threshold Recordings. The future is exciting for Kurt and his label Threshold. Motion Man’s debut album “Clearing the Field” dropped last Summer, along with the Skhool Yard’s (Planet Asia’s group) double EP “A New Way Of Thinking”. Kurt also remixed the #1 hit “In the End” by the 10x platinum group Linkin Park. The remix was a second incarnation of the hit song, and is still receiving massive airplay world-wide.
