Amir, together with partner Kon, was one of the first record diggers to release break mixtapes following the footsteps of pioneers DJ Muro and DJ Shame. Their now legendary “On Track” series started in early 1997 and is 5 volumes deep. In 2003 Kon and Amir took the concept to the next level and dug through european crates for “Trans Europe Express”. The Mixes found many fans across the globe including fellow vinyl connaisseurs such as Pete Rock, Questlove, DJ Premier and Pharrell. For the 2nd installment of Uncle Junior Records’ “Friday Fish Fry” series, “The Cleaning”, they mixed and serve a hot selection of rare soul gems. Mostly coming from that late 70s, early 80s post-disco, pre mainstream R&B sound, these are some of the rarest, sweetest grooves you’re ever gonna hear. Look for club tour dates in Europe in May / June!
