The brand new London based KerbKrawler label hits hard with its first release!!! With heads still shaking from the awesome originality of Won (under the Genre moniker on his own Surplus label), Tony Nwachukwu aka The Wach (of Attica Blues fame) continues his solo quest to devise the ultimate nu-jazz killer. With the “Longer EP”, Tony has taken the constantly evolving West London sound beyond its logical progression and into uncharted realms to produce a gigantic, stuttering, twisting, juggernaut of a track, that leaves nothing in its path unmoved. With seemingly nothing but a killer soul vocal by Evelyn Alison and some devastating edits, The Wach has produced a constantly building monster, heavy on the drama, heavier on the funk – THAT track that has the headz rushing at the booth going “whaaaaaaaaaaaaat???”

“Reason To Be” on the flip takes the broken beats into the streets of some futuristic megalopolis Blade Runner style, terminating all replicants in its path with the deadly efficiency of its synth stabs.

It’s not really surprising that Gilles Peterson gives a whole lotta love to Tony Nwachukwu’s latest offering in his “GP Worldwide” show.

The wait is over … run for cover!!!! It may well be that nu jazz will never be the same …

So you better give these tracks a listen:
