The release of Jaz-O’s Immobilaire album “Kingz Kounty” on D&D Records is accompanied by rumours of a beef between Jaz-O and his former protegee Jay-Z. Even though Jay-Z is featured on the Immobilaire single and video “Let’s Go”, the album track “Love Is Gone” sounds slightly different. At the same time there are sources claiming that It Ain’t Personal from the Jay-Z and R.Kelly-collabo-album “Best of Both Worlds” is directed at Jaz-O.

Jaz-O, formely known as Big Jaz aka the Originator, gave Jay-Z his first break with a feature on his single “Hawaiian Sophie” on EMI Records in the early 9ties. At that time Jaz-O was following the traditions of positive pro-black groups like Poor Righteous Teachers, KRS, PE and X-Clan with his his own sounds. After being dropped by EMI Jaz-O made his comeback as the producer for Jay-Z’s breakthrough singles “In My Lifetime (Remix)” and “Ain’t No Nigga” before working with Puffy and Rakim.

Jaz-O’s “Kingz Kounty” hit the stores on April 15th and doesn’t need this kind of “cross promotion”
