Founded by Bülent Serttas (aka Jive Turkey), Laura Gossmann and Dariusch Bozorgzadeh (aka Grimson) the Cologne-based tape label kicks brandnew flavors on the hip-hop dominated mixtape market. Even though hip-hop is the foundation, Carpetbombing delivers musical styles from all over the place.

The first tape “Music 4 Homeless People” by Solid Pack’s H.R.Minute (of the Plastic Jugganots turntablist crew) is a ride through the land of abstract beats and rhymes featuring 3rd Sight, Sonic Sum, Company Flow, Maurice Galactica, Aaesop Rock, 5 Deez, Mr.Complex a.o.

“Tales From The Tableist” from DJ Adlib (Noisy Stylus turntablist crew member, known for various Superrappin-mixes on tape and cd) mixes tons of unreleased tracks by Mr.Complex, Quasimoto, Declaime, Five Deez, Truth Enola, Kazi & Oh No, Planet Asia, BJ Digby, Lone Catalysts, a.o. with rare grooves and brazillian beats.

The third tape features the talents of Nima B and Tamay B, two hard-digging soul selectors with an exotic twist: “We Like It Cool” brings Martin Denny, Bobby Hutcherson, Johnny Mandel, Young Hold Unlimited, Arthur Lyman, Marcel Valentino, Quincy Jones, Cal Tjader and many more!
